Canton High School Volleyball Pink Out in Honor of Dr. Kristy KC Foundation

Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues with the help of the wonderful Gina Fagerman. Gina was Edsel Ford’s cheer coach and coached Kristy all 4 years. Last night she hosted the Pink Out for Canton Girls Volleyball. Here is what Gina said:

The Canton HS 🏐Volleyball program selected the Dr Kristy “KC” foundation to be their charity of choice this 2021 season. The “PinkOut” was held Oct 5 vs the visiting Bulldogs of Brighton HS. The “PinkOut” committee was led by Kristy Krupka(V mom) Kerri Hendricks(JV mom), and Lisa Petty(Fr mom). The 3 teams selected themes and gathered items for 7 raffle baskets. Eats and Sweets in Old Village Plymouth donated cookies and Varsity mom, Kristin New made mini cupcakes that were offered for donations. The serve competition, “Race for the Ace” was sponsored by Karl’s Kabin and varsity coach Ayanna Buckley. The victor was JV dad, Bob Allen. The night was tipped off by the flower presentation to our loved ones, who are survivors and warriors. (Flowers from Wedding Flowers by Heidi) Although our varsity team played tough, they lost the match 3-2. So while there was no victory on the court, there certainly was one going on in the building. The Canton VB “PinkOut” surpassed their goal of $300 and raised a whopping $1,200 for the Dr Kristy “KC” foundation. Thanks to the “PinkOut” committee for their creativity, tireless planning, and amazing execution of a great night. Thanks to all of our sponsors; Karl’s Kabin, Wedding Flowers by Heidi, Eats and Sweets, Kristin New, and Scott Schroeder. Thanks to Tony Conniff, Diane Krizmanich, and Angela DiSalvo for attending as special guests, all of the survivors, Brighton VB for their patience and assistance, and to Athletic Director Vernon Crump. Thanks to everyone who supported the Canton VB “PinkOut”
