Yatooma's Foundation X Dr. Kristy KC Foundation Summer Programming: Art Therapy Workshop

This summer, Dr. Kristy KC Foundation partnered with Yatooma's Foundation For the Kids to give families the opportunity to participate in several summer programs.

On July 30th, Participating families experienced an Art Therapy Workshop, led by Fair Sky of Michigan.

Personal Storytelling is a 2.5 hour workshop for bereaved youth presented by licensed clinicians. Students worked with Art Therapists and Drama Therapists and learned how to marble paper using shaving cream and paint and binded that paper into a journal/sketchbook. The Students also used clay to create a bookmark and learned about the complex feelings of grief and how we can use drama and art to tell our stories and take a pause from our grief. This day ended with a sharing circle to help clients communicate what they have learned and reflect on their stories.
